Top 5 Wednesday – Most Frustrating Characters

I recently came across the Goodreads group, Top 5 Wednesday, which is for booktubers and book bloggers to discuss their five favorite things under a specific topic every Wednesday. This week’s topic is “Most Frustrating Characters.”

Do you know that moment when a character appears on the page and you sigh out loud because you’re dreading what they’re going to do or say next? Yeah, those are the one’s I’m singling out today – and I’m already sighing out loud just thinking about them.

5. Michael Dobrescu from The Rose of Winslow Street by Elizabeth Camden

Oh this man! He is so brash and has quite the temper, I could hardly put up with him. He rips Libby’s treasured roses out of the ground because of how much they were upsetting his sister. YOU DON’T DO THAT! *sigh*

4. Lord Rupert from The Healer’s Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson

Oh boy! He was charming but it was obvious he was trouble. Then he has the audacity to, instead of asking Rose to marry him like she thought he would, ask her to be his mistress. WHAT?! You have issues, dear sir.

3. Tris Prior from Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Oh Tris. I loved her in the first book! She was only trying to save everything that she held dear to herself and was just starting to learn about herself – but in this book she went too far. When your boyfriend tells you not to go somewhere because he is concerned for your safety and wants you alive because he loves you, YOU STAY! Got it?!

2. America Singer from The Selection by Kiera Cass

I couldn’t even read the second book from The Selection series because America drove me crazy! Seriously, she’s falling for Maxon and then when her ex comes back she’s in love with him all over again. Honey, pick one man and stick with him, please!

1. Chelsea Morris from Miles From Nowhere by Amy Clipston

I want this girl to come to life so that I can grab her by the shoulders and shake some sense into her! She’s a good, responsible, respectable girl in the beginning but because some stupid boy comes into her life she turns into a irresponsible party girl who can’t even keep her job. Straighten up, missy! Boys that make you feel like you have to change into something like that, are not worth it.

So there’s my rant of the most frustrating characters that make me sigh, roll my eyes, and want to shake some sense into.

What characters make your Top 5 Most Frustrating Characters list? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. The Divergent movies were the rare “better than the book” movies. I hated Tris in the books!!! It’s one of my favorite movies though!! OHHHHHHH and my hubby looks like Four (but with more proportioned lips, thus, way hotter)

    1. I was actually kind of disappointed in the movies because they left out a lot of my favorite scenes, but besides that, they were really good!! Well it sounds like you hit the jackpot! 😉
